But where to start?!…
Well do not fear, because we have done the hard work for you. We have chosen a few of our favourite wedding blogs, resources and events to help you plan your perfect wedding.
So in no particular order let’s dive in to our ‘7 inspirational wedding resources you must check out’!
Magpie Wedding
Magpie Wedding is a wedding resource site that is updated regularly with a variety of interesting articles covering all aspects of a wedding, with a vintage touch.
And not only do Magpie blog, but they also put on their own wedding shows around the country. They even have a wedding supplier directory within their site, and also coming soon a shop selling wedding accessories.
Everything you could need all under one roof to cover your planning needs!
Engage Weddings
Engage Weddings is a fairly new wedding guide site but is quickly growing with some brilliant, unique ways to help you plan and gain ideas.
They focus solely on weddings, suppliers and venues within the four counties (Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire).
Engage also recently launched their very first ‘wedding planning party’ which we were lucky enough to be a part of. The idea of the planning party is to be a bit like a wedding fair but a lot more fun, with music, drinks, entertainment and the opportunity to ‘try out’ some specially selected wedding suppliers.
Mr and Mrs Unique
Mr and Mrs Unique is a blog and directory style site, but with the difference that it focuses solely on unusual, quirky and unique weddings.
The suppliers they list are all handpicked to match their vision and blogs posts are always on point with unique ideas and stories. There is even magazine that is produced and published twice a year which can be either downloaded or ordered.
The site is a excellent source for those looking for something a bit different for their wedding.
Weddingly
Weddingly is another local wedding resource that is based around the home counties in the South-East of England.
The guys at Weddingly are an extremely talented bunch. As well as a great blog, and directory of local suppliers, there is also the opportunity to submit and share your own wedding story with Weddingly that they will publish.
There are also lots of existing real wedding stories available to read and gain inspiration from.
The Wedding Insider
The Wedding Insider is a site that is packed full of so much useful information that it is bound to help any couple planning their wedding.
With a wedding tips section and a wedding trends section, the Wedding Insider covers all bases and literally answers the burning questions you might have as a bride to be!
Smashing the Glass
Smashing the Glass is a Jewish wedding blog. In fact it is the largest Jewish wedding blog in the word and the only one in Europe and the UK!
And everything you could ever need is here, browse the website menus and there is pretty much a section for anything you can think of; Food and Drink, Decor, Budget weddings, Destination weddings, it is all here. Smashing the Glass is a must read wedding resource, whether you are planning a Jewish wedding or not!
The Rustic Wedding Show
If you are planning a relaxed-outdoor or rustic-style wedding then the Rustic Wedding Show is a must!
Organised by Songbird Weddings and Events, the show itself happens a few times a year and focuses on weddings with a festival, boho or rustic theme, whether in a tipi, marquee or barn.
And on top of the show there is also a blog page and a directory of recommend suppliers, all fitting with the theme.
The JN Sounds Blog
So how could we finish our list of resources without cheekly including our own blog page!
Our main focus is of course on the entertainment aspect of weddings. Choosing the right wedding entertainment can be a tough choice, with so many options. So our aim is to provide as much guidance as we can on the things to be thinking of when picking perfect entertainment that is right for your wedding.
We only started up our blog earlier this year so we still have many more topics to feature. But if anyone has any ideas of a particular area of wedding entertainment/music they would like us to cover then please get in touch.
